G2 gathering for May was May 3 at Shoney's in Waynesville, NC. We had four visitors and a good time. 50/50 was won by Johnny Cope, $40 and half was donated back to G2 fund. Great meeting.

Chapter ride Sunday September 26 to The Ugly Dog Pub in Cashiers. After Cashiers, went to Highlands and took highway 106, Dillard Road to highway 441. Turned toward Franklin and stopped at Jack The Dipper near Franklin for Ice cream. Was a gorgeous day and all had a good time. Mike, Roger, Joe, Cricket, Pete, Nancy and Johnny.
Ride September 17 to Rusty Bike Cafe in Clayton Georgia.
Well, Wings Over the Smokies is in history book for 2021. It was a good rally but not as big as before COVID. This was first rally in two years. There was a good group of registered members all over the state, down to Raleigh. Our chapter G2 were arm band guards for entry Friday afternoon. Mike, Pete, Joe and Bill did a great job. Johnny led a guided ride Friday morning that took about an hour and had 14 bikes. Johnny was also a light show judge Friday evening. There were 7 bikes in the show and were really lit up.
Ride August 21 was to The Rusty Bike restaurant in Clayton Georgia. Were 9 members on ride. We had a good time. The food and service was excellent for a small restaurant. They have breakfast all day with lots of variations plus sandwiches. We will be back again.
Ride July 24 was intended for Brevard NC. We left Waynesville Plaza and took highway 276 across to highway 64. Nice ride across the park. Lots of people at the park sites, Sliding Rock and Looking Glass Falls. Lot of people. When we reached highway 64, it looked almost like being in Gatlingburg. Hawg Wild BBQ was on right and seemed to be not crowded. We stopped for a break and decided to have lunch there. We were headed for Mayberry's Soup and Sandwich in downtown. Downtown would have been too busy. Was a good day and fun lunch with waitress Megan, just look at that posture !!
Ride on July 12 was a combination ride. We helped member Beth install her TV on wall so she would not go stirry crazy. She is dealing with a foot wound that needs time to heal. G2 and visitors from Chapter I joined the ride. Chapter I was in Slingshots. After lunch a Mi Casa, went to install TV. After Install, we came back from Franklin taking back road at Sylva, Dark Ride Road to Balsam. Was a great day. Thanks Chapter I, David, Jim and Sharon, it was a team effort.
Had a nice group for our July 3 meeting. First time back to Fat Buddies. Our ADD visited and was given the Western Travelers Plaque to pass on. Everybody had a good time and the food was great. Service was the best. We gave door prizes, first time in over a year.
June 26 ride was to help out a Chapter member. Beth moved back to Franklin from Pennsylvania. She had her mini van full of stuff, some really heavy. Beth could not lift much as she was having issue with her feet. Mike could not move some as was heavy for two. Our ride was to move Beth into her new apartment and have lunch at Mi Casa mexican. it was beautiful day. On return we took Parkway from Balsam to Maggie Valley.
June 19 ride from Cullowhee taking Cullowhee Mountain Road to Pines Creek Recreation Area at Lake Glenville. Lots of curves and elevation across the mountain. From Lake Glenville to The Ugly Dog Pub in cashiers for lunch. Good food. Was another good ride.
June 12 was the Wings Over Carolina West ride. Planned by ADD Dave and Diane Smith. From Beaverdam Community Building. Route to Leciester to Trust then return highway 209, Rattler. Chapter G2 captured Western Traveler's Plaque.
June 5 ride was a combined picnic an chapter meeting. Location was at Pines Recreation Area of Lake Glenville. Several member of Asheville Chapter I joined the ride. Also Western ADD, David and Diane were present.
June 4 ride to Motor Co. Grille in Franklin NC. Downton Franklin on left. Was once a Ford dealership. Now a restaurant with 60's theme. Good choice of food and drinks. Ice cream and shakes and malts. First time for several in the group of being there.
May 29 ride to Spring Creek NC with Bear, Pete and Bill. Highway 209 from Lake Junaluska to Spring Creek. Stopped at Trust General Store for a break. Was surprised to see arts and crafts show. Spent some time looking them over. Then past Trust, turned onto Caldwell Mountain road to Meadowfork Road. Followed Meadowfork Road back to highway209. Then Dave's 209 Restaurant for lunch then home. Was great ride and good food and all had a great time.
May 17 ride to Mel's Diner in Pigeon Forge for lunch. There were 6 motorcycles and two Slingshots. Was great day for ride. Bear was hungry for some banana split. Several had some. They are awesome, just like old fashioned.
Ride May 15 to Stecoah Diner for lunch. Beautiful day. Gasoline was short on supply but we found some. Food is good and service is best. All had a good time. My sister lives close and came by to join us.
Not a scheduled ride on Mother's Day, May 9, but several called me and wanted to do a last minute ride. Ride was to Ugly Dog Public House in Cashier's NC. Sister to one in Highlands NC. Was great food and all had a good time. Stopped by Pine Creek Recreation Area on Lake Glenville on way home for a break. Was a windy day but temps were good. Bear, Mike, Bill, Pete, Joe, Anita and myself. Were four trikes and a two-wheeler.
Few chapter members decided on a ride to Lake's End Grille and Marina for lunch on Sunday May 2. Weather was great. Food is good. Myself, Joyce, Mike, Bear and Bill made the ride. Sat on the back deck and had lunch overlooking the lake. Really relaxing.
Chapter ride to Highlands for lunch Wednesday April 28 at The Ugly Dog Pub. Was fortunate to get 3 tables. Was the largest group ride since real early last year because of the COVID. Was a nice ride from Franklin NC to Highlands on highway 64. Food was excellent. There were all kinds of dog pictures adorning all the walls. Very interesting place.
Ride to Rumor Hazit, Clayton Georgia, Sunday April 18. Joyce's friend said it was a good place to eat. They had good seafood. Ride to Clayton Georgia for lunch. Was a beautiful day for a ride. Food was great and all had fun.
Ride to Lynn's Place Restaurant in Bryson City on Tuesday April 13. Mike, Bear and myself had a fun ride and a great day. Food and service at Lynn's Place was great. Mike' s bike is in shop and was in car. Bear suggested maybe she might want to ride with him, as he carries a spare helmet.
Pete Shaginaw ride April 11. Past Bryson City to Alarka road. Took a loop ride involving several roads in the back country. Beautiful ride. Thanks Pete. Lunch at Anthony's Bryson City across from GMSR train station. Fantstic food to end the journey.
Chapter G2 first meeting in several months. Had 5 visitors to become G2 members. David and Dianne Smith were present, Western District Assistant Directors.

October 18 group ride to Carver's Orchard and Applehouse restaurant, Cosby Tenn for lunch. Cold morning but warmed up very nicely. Bypassed the stop and go traffic of highway 441 and took I-40 to Foothills Parkway then right to destination. Lot of people at Carver's and had a 40-55 minute wait for tables. Food was really good. Down home cooking. Could get pinto beans, onion and cornbread for $4.55. Johnny and Joyce, Mike, Pete, Winfred, Dwayne and Angie and John.
October 8 ride. Through Stecoah to Robbinsville to Lake Santeetlah. After leaving lake up to Deal's Gap home of Dragon. After saying bye to Dragon, return to Robbinsville, El Pacifico mexican restaurant for lunch. Return thru Topton and Nantahala Gorge. Johnny and Joyce, Mike, Pete, Joe and Roger.
October 1 ride to Valley Cafe breakfast then via Clayton Georgia, Lake Burton to Helen Georgia. Lunch in Helen at Big Daddy's then return thru Hiwassee to Franklin. Johnny and Joyce, Mike, Mark and Maria (new friends).
Chapter ride on August 30, Sunday led by Pete Shaginaw. Therer were 3 trikes and 3 Slongshots and 1 two wheeler. Mike with her two-wheeler, Maxine decided not to do ride at this time as Maxine just got back home after several months. Lunch at El Patron in Sylva NC. Then just past Western Carolina University, turn onto Cullowhee Mountain Road, the right on Tilley Road that turns into Ellijay Road. Ride is across a curvy ridge to Ellijay community to intersect with Highway 64 then right to Franklin NC. Stopped at Jack the Dipper south of Franklin for ice cream then home.
Shopping - picnic ride Sunday August 23 with Bear, Donna, Dwayne, Angie and Angie's parents. Shopped at Pigeon Forge Tenn. then south on 441 to Collins Picnic area north of Cherokee for picnic. Encountered some rain as we were enjoying the picnic food... Bear said his hamburger got so wet, the bun fell off and he was holding the burger, onion and lettuce in his hand.
